The aim of this study is to develop an employee performance appraisal model via expert systems. Due to the importance and the value of human resources in organizations, a capable work environment is not recognized unless it considers HR as the main drive. By the same to-ken, to utilize the HR efficiently, a performance appraisal system is needed in which practical precision and simplicity is of high impor-tance. Expert systems can be used to improve these features of per-formance appraisal systems. This study was based on utilizing expert systems for improving precision of appraisal models after determining direct variables, performance appraisal systems, developing ques-tionnaire and evaluating employees' performance, this study proposed a model for appraisal. In this model, gathered data was analyzed by an expert system model to report the assessor of the assessed excellent, average or poor performance condition.
