Multi attribute decision making (MADM) is a dynamic idea that has been established in line with creating techniques and methods to enable a decision maker to solve complicated problems which are composed of several contradictory, different factors. One of the most attractive techniques in practice is additive rank order method to com-pare ordinal evaluations of actions on criterion which is called ORESTE method as a European MADM approach. This paper applies this method to rank five research units of Iran Telecommunication Re-search Center as a nonprofit and research organization. To this end, first we attain number of attributes due to the experts' views to meas-ure the performance of each unit using a questionnaire. Then we col-lect data to make a so-called decision matrix and calculate the weights by Shannon’s Entropy method. Finally, we ranked the research units using ORESTE method in six steps and compared the ranking results with another MADM method.
