Studying literature on e-readiness assessment reveals that numerous studies have been conducted on assessing countries’ e-readiness -a macro perspective- but few have attempted to evaluate it from a micro perspective. In addition, most studies is done on micro level of e-readiness pertain to e-readiness assessment of small and medium en-terprises (SMEs).The present study is the first attempt to adopt a micro approach to assessing e-readiness of Informatics small and medium size companies in Iran. In this study, an e-readiness assessment model for Iranian informatics small and medium size companies is designed based on reviewing literature on e-readiness assessment models of countries and SMEs, opinions of ICT experts at informatics companies and fuzzy mean method. This model is adaptable to social, economical and technological conditions of the country. The model consists of five dimensions including "e-infrastructure", "human resources", "networked world enablers", "networked applications and services", and "ICT sector and ICT goods trade". In addition, it is composed of 54 indicators. This model was implemented in three Iranian informatics companies which were selected from three group of strong, medium, and weak based on High Council of Informatics rank-ings. The results of the presented research on these three companies indicate that they have highest readiness in "e-infrastructure" and low-est readiness in "networked applications and services".  The model presented here helps top decision makers in Iranian informatics small and medium size companies to identify the strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities of their companies for readiness in adopting ICTs as they plan further investments in ICTs.
