Designing And Studying An Interactive Model Of Strategic Approach, Organizational Culture And Environment

Abstract

Now a days our world is knowledge-based, complex, uncertain and excessively competitive. All these make one get familiar with the environment and organizational culture well so that he/she can stay in this competitive world. In this research, we attempted to study the interactive relation among strategy, organizational culture and environment. For this purpose, a Conceptual Model has been presented and four hypotheses have been set to test it. For testing the research hypotheses, three questionnaires composed of organizational strategy, constructive and passive/defensive organizational culture and stable and dynamic environment have been designed. All of the small and medium industrial organizations of Toos Industrial Estate make up the population. The gathered information is analyzed by using binominal and chi-square test. The result showed that in a dynamic environment, organizations that have constructive organizational culture follow prospector strategy, and organizations with passive/defensive organizational culture follow analyzer strategy. In the stable environment, organizations that have constructive organizational culture follow defender strategy and organizations that have passive/defensive organizational culture follow reactor strategy
