The Managers’ Success Factors at Small Public Service Companies and Designing a Model for Explaining Them (A Case Study on ABFA Co. of Isfahan)

Abstract

Regarding the necessity of prioritizing and providing sustainable ser-vice, and of preserving potable water as the most vital and crucial hu-man service, particularly due to the growth of population and demand push for potable water, (ABFA) companies encounter more obstacles and limitations in comparison to other state companies in a way that the need for efficient management relying on different skills is felt more than ever. Therefore, studying and monitoring the state ''ABFA'' engineering company showed that some managers of these companies have performed more efficiently than others. This article is based on a survey research. The goal of this research is finding the managers’ success factors at ABFA companies for improv-ing financial ratios which was followed in three main phases: 1. Interviewing the successful managers for specifying their most im-portant factors of success 2. Designing, distributing and gathering the manager and personnel questionnaires separately 3. Concluding the results on the managers’ success factors at ABFA companies for im-provement of financial ratios, including: result-orientation, tendency to change, effective communication with local authorities, creating friendly relationship, and trying to motivate personnel. The three ear-lier factors were anticipated in the research and the two later factors were concluded out of questionnaire's data.
