Explaining Indicators Of Communication Skills Of Managers And Their Role In Job Satisfaction Of Employees

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify indicators of communication skills of managers and to investigate their correlation with job satisfaction of employees. Eight indicators were identified for communication skills of managers that include self-disclosure, empathy, supportiveness, positiveness, self-control, people skills, idealized influence, inspiration, and intellectual stimulation.After identifying indicators, this research aims to answer two main questions. First: is there a meaningful difference between the existing and the desired situation of communicational skills of managers? And the second question is whether there is a significant relationship between communicational skills of managers and job satisfaction of employees.The results of this research show a meaningful difference between existing and desired situation of communicational skills. This means that managers of the organization are far from achieving the desirable situation of communicational skill.In addition, research results show that the relationship between indicators of communicational skills and job satisfaction is positive and significant. The strongest relationship was between empathy, people skills and job satisfaction indicators and the weakest relationship was seen between self-control and job satisfaction.
