Designing a Model for Effective Academic Leadership

Abstract

Studies have shown that organizational success is based on effective leadership, and this is true in every organization including academic centers. Since universities and higher education centers in the third millennium are encountering increasing challenges, overcoming these predicaments necessitates effective leadership and efficient management. In this article, based on the existing theories of leadership, various models of effective leadership and effective academic leadership have been assessed, and finally, our country's conceptual model of effective academic leadership has been designed.
According to the results of the statistical tests, the 8 effective leadership variables of this model have been prioritized on the ground of their importance as follows: 1) Creating Charisma, 2) Team Building, 3) Group Empowerment, 4) Constant Performance Improvement, 5) Vision, 6) Self-Evaluation, 7) Intuition, 8) Coaching.
