This study aimed to trace and explore employability of students graduated from Shahid Chamran, Lorestan, and Ilam Universities during 1997-2001. To this aim we used revised version of weberian theory stated by Brown and Scace. Through descriptive (tracing) research method, views of 1800 graduate students from the schools of engineering, agriculture, pure science, veterinary, and humanities were gathered. The results showed thatn: 1) Graduates' employment problem has reached a critical state 2) There is a mismatch between labor market requirements and the education and skills offered by universities 3) The findings were in accord with the results found by Brown and Scace theory concerning the new obligations of labor market in developing countries. However it is recommended that universitties make a reform in their educational system as well as focusing on employability skills such as methodology, entrepreneurship, communicaiton, and information about labor market opportunities in regional and national levels.
