The main purpose of this study was to examine predictors of job satis-faction in Shahed University employees. 278 employees from among Shahed University employees (119 men and 159 women) were se-lected by systematic random sampling and were included in this study. All subjects were asked to complete Job Satisfaction, Job Burnout, Metamotivational style Profile, Perceived Social Support question-naires, General Health Questionnaire, and six subscales of Psycholog-ical Well-being. Correlation, regression and discriminant analysis were used to analyze the data. Results showed that job satisfaction in women is higher than men. In men, job burnout, perceived social sup-port from friends and some aspects of psychological well-being (per-sonal growth, purpose in life and positive relations with others) and in women, anxiety and depression and some aspects of psychological well-being (environmental mastery, purpose in life and autonomy) were significant predictors of job satisfaction. Moreover, burnout had more influence on job satisfaction in hospital employees than faculty employees.
